Malaysia

Malaysia is the fastest-growing economic region in the world. Therefore, immigrants from different parts of the globe aspire to reside in Malaysia and get business class facilities in healthcare, education, and more.

In 2017, the government of Malaysia introduced the system of e-Visa to ease the application process. Indian citizens can apply for both visa types: eVisa (electronic visa) and eNTRI (electronic travel registration and information).

Indians are the only citizens who get the opportunity to get multiple entries on a single visa, while other nations are still only permitted single-entry visas.

What is a Malaysian eNTRI Visa for Indians?

The eNTRI stands for Electronic Travel Registration and Information, allowing Indians to travel to Malaysia for 15 days. It permits Indians to travel again after 15 days, but the citizen has to wait for three months, and it is valid to use within three months with a promised stay of 15 days in Malaysia. It is a single entry visa.

Obtaining an eNTRI visa is a simple process. It can be obtained by completing an online application and submitting a few personal details and a passport. The application for an eNTRI visa is processed in one business day and is valid for three months from the date of issue.

To apply for a new eNTRI visa, visitors have to wait for three months, and the date of this visa cannot be extended further.

Malaysia eVisa Medical

Malaysia eVisa Medical is valid for patients traveling to Malaysia for medical treatment, procedure, or services. Before applying for a medical visa, applicants must first take a medical appointment from MHTC (Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council). Applicants should also submit a hospital appointment letter to get the visa.

Under the Malaysia eVisa, medical patients can stay in the country for 30 days. However, foreign patients can only book appointments with a healthcare provider or a private hospital through an eVisa. eVisa holders are not provided access to public healthcare facilities.

Patients intending to travel to Malaysia on a medical eVisa should apply at least 14 days before the intended date of travel. With an eVisa, only a single person is granted access to Malaysia and is valid for three months from the issue date.

Difference between eVisa and eNTRI visa

Indians can apply for both visas, but to spot the difference, here are a few points to know about before making a choice:

With an eNTRI visa, applicants can stay for 15 days, while eVisa provides a stay for up to 30 days.
Validity for an eNTRI visa is three months, but eVisa is valid within 3 to 12 months for a multiple entry visa and three months for a single entry eVisa.
Visa processing for an eNTRI visa takes 1-2 days before application. Whereas eVisa requires 2-7 working days for processing the application. This processing time is valid for both single and multiple entry eVisa.

Any Indian, including the non-native Indians, can apply for an eNTRI visa. However, Indians residing in Singapore cannot apply for an eNTRI visa.
